About Us
Faith. Passion. Community. Prayer.
These are the words that define First Fruits Living Ministries’ qualities and bridge the vital links connecting street evangelism with the local church and to the community. First Fruits Ministries was established on the principals of expressing and demonstrating God’s compassion and love to the needy and to provide support to the local church’s outreach ministry initiatives.
First Fruits Living Ministries founder and evangelist LaChelle Anderson, affectionately known as “Sister Shelli,” believes passionately, unconditionally and enthusiastically in God’s mandate to go out into the uttermost parts of the earth and share the good news message of Jesus Christ.
Focusing on impacting the local community, First Fruits Living Ministries is rooted upon Sister Shelli’s beloved foundational scripture, 2 Samuel 9:3:
Is there yet anyone left in the house...of Ecorse, River Rouge, Lincoln Park or Detroit…that I may show the compassion of the Lord to?
The Bible says ' do not despise humble beginnings. On Oct 2012 Sister Shelli received the notice that she was laid off from work. However, during her Bible time she read about Jesus going to the streets and preaching, laying hands on the sick and feeding the hungry. As she prayerfully meditated on the scriptures, she heard, "Take it to the Streets." It was through Sister Shelli’s obedience to the still small voice of the Lord, Free bag Lunch n’ Prayer street ministry came about.
Sister Shelli continued to seek the Lord in prayer and was led to read 2 Samuel 9:3 that further revealed to her how to make the program manifest even while she was still unemployed. Sister Shelli was trained to evangelize but didn't understand how a single woman and her mom could do this on the streets effectively and safely. Praying continually, God instructed her to offer the outreach to churches in need of an outreach program. Thereby the Free Bag Lunch n' Prayer street outreach ministry was birthed with fear and trembling, and implemented in September 2013.
